Log Masters for First Division Title again
Catch me if you can, but no one can, as Log Enterprises Masters has all but retained the Bottlers First Division Cricket title.{{more}}
Last weekend, Masters carried their tally to an unassailable 117 points, with a match still in hand.
Log Masters scored 160, with Lynton Greaves topscoring with 34. Ray Charles, 2 for 16, Timothy Warner, 2 for 18, Mikhail Weekes, 2 for 32, and Zane Edwards, 2 for 36.
Digicel Neil Williams Academy was shot out for 49, with Montgomery Sealey taking 3 for 8, and Jimmy Sam, 3 for 11. Batting a second time, the Academy reached 117. Lanceford Weekes made 48.
Greaves, 3 for 17, Sealey, 2 for 32, and Sam, 2 for 33, bowling for Log Masters, who reached 10 for 1, in their second innings for full points and another lien on the title.
In another match, Victor Two scored 256 for 8 declared, with Javed Harry, 101, Afram Byron, 58, and Curtland Lavia, 35. Jerome Samuel, 3 for 44, and Curtis King, 2 for 41.
Belmont replied with 141. Troy Harry, 43, King, 40. Joeneil Neil, 5 for 47, and Harry, 3 for 34. Victors were 132 for 3, in their second innings. Harry completed a good all-round performance with 78.
And, Smashers took the maximum from ASCO. Smashers totalled 199, batting first. Deptor Culzac, 60, Raydon Bentick, 59. Kentish Philips, 5 for 55, Andre Hunte, 2 for 12, and Kimani Thomas, 2 for 33, bowling for ASCO, who in response scored 94. Konnard Adams, 4 for 24, Nikron Murphy, 2 for 8, and Darron Russell, 3 for 28.
Following on, ASCO posted 118. Elrick Morris made 31. Marvin Harry wrecked their innings with 6 for 51, Russell, 2 for 10 and Kesrick Williams, 2 for 13. Smashers reached 14 for 1, to win by nine wickets.
In the RBTT premier division, Police Two took first innings from Eat Rite Saints. Salvan Browne, 125, Mc Leon Williams, 48 and Mohammed Lavia, 30, pushed Police Two to 248. The old stagers, Ted Roberts, 5 for 67, and Walford Ambris, 5 for 75, shared the bowling honours for Saints.
Saints replied with 187. Sunil Ambris, 63, Rodrigo Thomas, 53. Elmore Alexander, 6 for 55, and Lavia, 4 for 41. Police, in their second innings, were 50 with out loss.
Also in the premier division, Victors One scored an innings triumph over Police One.
Alston Bobb, 90, and 33 each from Lauron Francois and Denis Byam saw Victors to 250 for 7 declared. Vertil Davis, Gerald Gould and Osrick James, all bagged two wickets each.
Police were shot out for 99, with Gould making 34 and OâNeil Thomas, 30. Ian Allen, 4 for 48, Bobb, 2 for 21, and Dodridge Small, 2 for 16. Police were dismissed for 86 in their second innings with Bobb 5 for 34 and Small 2 for 35.
ECGC Radcliffe defeated Irie Travel Packers by 8 wickets. Scores: Packers, 124 and 26. Radcliffe, 137, and 14 for 2.
Last weekendâs results in the Premier Division set up an interesting finish, as MVC Rivals, 64, Victor One, 64, Radcliffe, 61 and the News Spartans, 52, all can lay claim on the title, with all four having one match in hand. (RT)
