Group One winner Radcliffe formalised their berth last weekend, with a 55-run win over Saints I. Radcliffe hit 147 for 8 off their 20 overs. Osni Billingy 40, Delroy Johnson, 34, and Dellorn Johnson, 28, were Radcliffe’s principal scorers. Walford Ambris, 4 for 31, Roger Gibson, 2 for 18, and Ted Roberts, 2 for 32, were the wicket takers for Saints I, who were dismissed for 92. Mahlon John, 3 for 14, Drumo Toney, 3 for 18 and Hezron Lawerence, 2 for 2, bolstered Radcliffe’e efforts.

Victors Two scored three wins on the weekend to come through. Victors’ roll began with a three run win over Bequia last Saturday morning.

Excitement reigned at the Sion Hill Playing Field in a nail biting reply by Bequia. Chasing 100, Bequia were cruising at 51 without loss.

Then everything went haywire, as Atticus Browne, 3 for 20, and Geoffrey Abraham, 2 for 16, and three needless run outs, gave Victors Two what seemed an improbable victory. Bequia’s innings stopped at 96. Openers Shem Browne and Jeremy Ollivierre made 32 and 27, respectively, before panic and some brainless cricket took over. Victors Two made 99, led by Paul Tesheira’s 27 not out.

Victors Two on Sunday defeated Unique Warriors and Police One, both by five wickets. Warriors scored 99 off 14 overs. Andre Hunte topscored with 35. Geoffrey Abraham took 2 for 17 and Andy Abraham, 2 for 25, bowling for Victors Two, who in reply reached 103 for 5 off 13.5 overs.

Against Police One, Atticus Browne struck 9 fours in his knock of 50 to lead his team to 112 for 5 off 14.3 overs in response to Police’s 108 for 9, made off 20 overs. Browne, with the ball, bagged 3 for 22 and Geoffrey Abraham, 4 for 24, denied Police’s dominance. Uroy Farrell made 28 when Police batted.

Police One’s other defeat was inflicted by Rivals. Nicholas Baptiste scored 40, as Rivals posted 131 off 16 overs. Renrick Cato was Police’s top bowler, with 3 for 17. Their innings, though, ended at 73. Farrell again topscoring with 30, as Zano Mapp took 4 for 4, bowling for Rivals.

But Police Two reversed the fortunes for the local constabulary, recording two wins. Saints II scored 93 for 8 off their 20 overs. Elmore Alexander, 3 for 27, and Malcovin Alexander, 2 for 17, restricted Saints’ batting, despite Kelvin Lorraine’s 26. Mc Leon Williams, 28 not out, and Othneil Baptiste, 24 not out, saw Police Two home at 95 for 2 off just 10.3 overs.

Playing against Spartans, Police Two’s 112 for 6 off their 20 overs was centered around Kenroy Martin’s 43 and Baptiste’s 24. Spartans could only reach 82, dismissed in the last over. Vaughn Browne bagged 3 for 16, while Dawnley Joseph topscored for Spartans with 30.

And defending champion Victors One thrashed Smashers by 94 runs. Victors One made 132 for 5 off their maximum 20 overs. Kaschaka Cupid hit 25 not out. Smashers were routed for 38. Lauron Francois, 3 for 2, Hank Hall, 3 for 18, and Keiron Cottoy, 2 for 2, powered to second place in Group Two behind Police Two.(RT)
