NPRBA Employees wrap up training at Kew Gardens, UK
Members of staff of the National Parks, Rivers and Beaches Authority (NPRBA) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, Rural Transformation, Industry & Labour are wrapping up a 10-day professional training programme at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew in London, United Kingdom.
The programme, which began on September, 28, and will end today, Friday October, 10,2025, is intended to strengthen this country’s expertise in plant science, biodiversity conservation and sustainable landscape management. The team has been receiving advanced, hands-on training in key areas such as tropical nursery management, seed banking and orchid propagation, working directly with Kew’s global experts, a release from the NPRBA states.
This initiative comes on the heels of a recent working visit by a Kew Gardens delegation to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, from August, 27, to September 10, 2025. As part of that exchange, Kew specialists led a four-day intensive workshop on plant science, conservation and garden management.
The training formed part of the 260th anniversary celebrations of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Botanic Garden, staged under the theme “Our Garden, Our Heritage: 260 Years Strong!” – a milestone that honours the Garden’s rich legacy while investing in its future.
The NPRBA affirms that its partnership with the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, is a major step in building capacity and advancing environmental stewardship. It equips the Botanic Garden’s team with world-class expertise and strengthens its legacy as the oldest tropical botanical garden in the Western Hemisphere and a hub for research, conservation and education.
