Eight new COVID19 cases reported in SVG
Eight new COVID19 positive cases were reported from 281 cases processed on Friday July 23, 2021, resulting in a positivity rate of 2.8 per cent, a release from the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) said..
One of the eight new cases is an imported case from the United Kingdom.
No new COVID19 positive cases were reported from 232 samples processed on Thursday July 22, 2021.
“No new recoveries were noted over the reporting period. Sixty-eight cases are currently active and 12 persons with COVID19 have died. Two thousand two hundred and seventy-nine (2279) cases of COVID19 and two thousand, one hundred and ninety-nine (2199) recoveries have been recorded in St. Vincent and the Grenadines since March 2020.
Persons who persist in incorrect or no mask use, remain unvaccinated and participate in mass gatherings will continue to be at risk for being infected and spreading COVID19. To reduce the spread of COVID19 in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, compliance with the protocols including the effective use of masks, physical distancing, and the evidence-based recommendations to be vaccinated with the available vaccines is strongly recommended,” the release said.
