“Ellie” was a talented athlete, footballer and cricketer who played for Reeves House, the St Vincent Grammar School and Saints Sports Club before he immigrated to the United States. He was a member of the St Vincent Grammar School team at the 1962 Windward Islands Inter-Schools Games in St Lucia.

He was a reliable team member who played with energy and commitment, treated fellow team members in a respectful and supportive manner, got the work done, did his fair share of hard work and delivered consistent good performances that contributed to help the teams he played for achieve success.

As a member of Reeves House at the Grammar School, “Ellie” successfully competed in the 200 yards and high jump. He was a left back in football, and often earned the respect of opposing batsmen with his effective flighted offbreaks in cricket.

In paying tribute to “Ellie” some of his former school mates and team mates said: “We have lasting memories of an outstanding sportsman, and a human being of the highest quality. Our lives have been made richer for being his friend and team mate.”
