The minister also pointed to the programme’s role in connecting classroom learning with practical industry exposure, noting that it gives students an opportunity to experience international hospitality standards from an early stage in their education.
She said the initiative helps students gain a clearer understanding of career pathways available within the tourism and hospitality sector.
“It encourages students pursuing food and nutrition, hospitality, food and beverages study, to see clearer career parts within the tourism and hospitality industry.”
King commended the collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Sandals Resorts International, describing it as an example of the importance of public-private partnerships in creating opportunities for young people throughout the country.
