Crime Chief, senior officers working around the clock on triple homicide

Three people were shot and killed in Belmont Friday night, May 16 and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Frankie Joseph is pleading with the general public for information regarding the triple homicide.

Deputy Commissioner Joseph said officers and investigators are working around the clock to gather evidence and interview witnesses in order to determine exactly what happened.

He provided an update on the fatal shooting during a press conference which was held at 1pm today, May 17, at the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force Headquarters.
In addition to the three deaths, two other individuals were injured with one treated and discharged following the incident.
“And the other individual is still a patient at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital,” he disclosed.
“We understand the shock and the fear that was caused in the community and in the country, and we want to assure the public that this matter is being treated with the utmost urgency and seriousness.”
“While we are still in the early stages of the investigation, we are committed to keeping the public informed as developments occur,” he said.
Deputy Commissioner Joseph further appealed to the general public to assist the police by coming forward, even though they may believe that the information might not make sense to them.
“That might be the piece of the puzzle that we are looking for in order to fully investigate these homicides. I have directed Mr Trevor Bailey, the Assistant Commissioner of crimes, to lead the investigation into these killings.”
He explained said that ACP Bailey’s team, which comprises senior officers from the South Central Division and the Major Crime Unit, are following all leads in this case.
“Our primary concern remains the safety of the public and delivering justice for the victims and their loved ones.”
