Man pleads not guilty to charges of stealing from two women

A resident of Sion Hill charged for theft, entered a not guilty plea when he appeared in the Kingstown Magistrate court before Senior Magistrate, Rickie Burnett on Monday, December 12.

Jeffery Cuffy was granted bail in the sum of $3000.00 and will return to court for trial on February 14, 2023.

Cuffy is alleged to have stolen one black hand bag valued at $ 40.00 containing one black Bluetooth speaker valued at $80.00; one white Samsung cellular charger valued at $80.00 ; one set of black wired headphones value $20.00; two vials of body mist spray valued at $35.00; one brown leather purse valued at $10.00; one black golden eagle brand t-shirt valued at $25.00 and one blue pair of socks valued at $5.00; a total value of $295.00, the property of Simone Billinghurst of Frenches, on December 6.

He also is charged for stealing one St. Vincent and the Grenadines identification card in the name of Simone Billinghurst, the property of the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

The defendant was further charged that on December 6, at Kingstown he stole one blue ZTE A3 cellular phone with a value of $99.00; one Flow sim card valued at $35.00; and one transparent cellular phone case valued at $10.00 for a total value of $144.00, the property of Goldy Davis Shallow of Diamond Estate.

Cuffy pled not guilty to both charges and the prosecution did not object to his bail but asked for sufficient surety.

Bail was granted in the sum of $3000.00 with one surety and Cuffy will return to court on February 14, 2023.
