Madame Chu turns Santa

Many disadvantaged and needy persons will definitely be better clothed this Christmas season, thanks to resident Taiwanese Ambassador to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Madame Elizabeth Chu.

The handing over of brand new clothing to various church organizations throughout St.Vincent was held at the Peace Memorial Hall last Monday. {{more}}

Speaking at the brief ceremony, Madame Chu said that the donations represent the love of the people of Taiwan. She stated the purpose of the donations was to warm the hearts of disadvantaged, needy and poor persons.

Nine out of ten organizations were on hand to collect their donations including, the Hope Baptist Church (Owia), Salvation Army, Red Cross Society, Wesley Baptist Mission (Fancy), Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, Seventh Day Adventist Church (Barrouallie), Spiritual Baptist Church (Overland), Chateaubelair Methodist Church and the New Testament Church of God (Rose Hall). The other recipient was the Bethel Pentecostal Church (Georgetown).

Ambassador Chu highlighted the fact that her country is always willing to lend a helping hand to small countries. She also conveyed best wishes and a Merry Christmas to the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
