Family wants justice for man who died after falling from building
The funeral service for the construction worker who died after falling from a building under construction in Villa earlier this month, was punctuated by cries for justice.
Lemorn ‘Spanny’ Baptiste died on February 4, 2026 after falling from the four storey building.
Baptiste and others were working on the building when he fell and subsequently died.The 39-year-old man was buried at the Georgetown cemetery on Sunday March 1, 2026 after his funeral service at the Gospel Hall Church in Georgetown.
In a moving tribute, one of Spanny’s friends condemned the way that his family is being treated after his sudden, unfortunate death.
“Poor people children not suppose to just die like that,” the friend said as he spoke about how much Spanny’s mother, his children and girlfriend are hurting.
“People are hurting. Justice needs to be done.”
Spanny, who was originally from Chili Village, Georgetown also left behind an infant daughter.
“His death is not supposed to go like that,”the friend insisted.
