PM Gonsalves opens his private residence to Central Leeward champs
Prime Minister, Dr Ralph Gonsalves opened the doors of his private residence at Gorse on Monday January, 16 to the 2022 winning teams of the Central Leeward Secondary School (CLSS).
The more than 100 students and teachers were treated to music, eats, drinks, and had a fun time in the pool over the course of the estimated four hour visit.

Physical Education teacher at CLSS, Chester Morgan, told SEARCHLIGHT the gesture by the Prime Minister will have a positive psychological impact on the students as they prepare for the 2023 school sports season.
He said those who were part of the special outing at the Prime Minister’s residence included not only students from championship teams, but also students who were part of the original squads. He explained that they worked hard with their colleagues in the development of the teams, so they were given the chance to enjoy some of the benefits of being in a championship team.
Prime Minister Gonsalves said the students must be given any and all opportunities to enjoy themselves in a positive way, especially when they have performed as the Central Leeward Secondary School did in 2022.

And, Parliamentary Representative for Central Leeward, Orando Brewster was pleased with the gesture by Prime Minister Gonsalves. He was also full of praise for the school’s performance in 2022 in Athletics, Netball, and Football, and said that what took place in 2022 was just the beginning of the students understanding their potential and working towards fulfilling that potential.
However, coach Morgan is the one to whom everyone pointed as having the fortitude to stay the course in implementing a sports programme at the Central Leeward Secondary School, which is now producing the results on the field of play and which has also seen an improvement in performances in the classroom.
