“I’m giving God thanks” – radio personality

Radio personality Carlyle Douglas is thanking God that he is still alive after being shot in the groin area, last Wednesday.

Douglas was released from the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital on Sunday, where he was treated for his gunshot wound.

“I could’ve ceased to exist with the flash of a light, but that’s not what happened. I’m still standing. I’m still here and I’m giving God thanks for life and mercies bestowed on me,” he said.

Douglas told SEARCHLIGHT yesterday that besides some discomfort, he is fine and not in any pain.

The radio personality was shot by men who were fleeing after executing a robbery at a shop near his house.

“I was shot at the entrance of the door,” he said. “I was on my computer and I heard the gunshots. It seemed like it came from the other direction, which meant I was not necessarily in harm’s way.”

He said that as he was closing his door, he saw two men running from the direction of the shop and a third saw him and shot at him.

Shopkeeper Wendy Bowman and his friend, Andy Gill were in the shop at the time of the robbery. Both men were left nursing head wounds after one of the robbers used the butt of his gun to strike them.
