Lucky Layou man survives after being shot three times

A Layou man who was charged with murder in 2012 was shot three times over the weekend and is now a patient at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH).

Thirty-year-old Billy Adams, a mechanic, was hit with bullets fired from the weapon of a lone gunman on Sunday, October 2.{{more}} He was making his way home in an area of Layou known as Bethrimy, when the attempt was made on his life.

He sustained gunshot wounds to his back and legs. When SEARCHLIGHT visited Adams at the Male Surgical Ward of the MCMH on Monday, he declined to comment.

Back in 2012, Adams, then 26, Adolphus Foye, 17, labourer and Andy Quashie, 26, farmer, were arrested and charged on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 for the Saturday, September 1 murder of 38-year-old Layou fisherman Joseph “Evans” Lynch. Lynch was gunned down in the street in the Central Leeward town around 1 p.m.

Adams and Foye were later freed of the murder, while Quashie is still imprisoned awaiting trial.(LC)
