Bajans’ matter adjourned to October

Barbadians Joel Erad Payne, 50, Shawn Boucher, 36 Ryan Corbin, 35, and Devon Hurdle, 38, will have to wait a while longer before their case is heard at the Serious Offences Court.{{more}}

The men, who are on remand, charged with possession of 1,706 pounds of cannabis, with intent to supply it to another and intent to export 1,706 pounds of cannabis, were informed by the court’s prosecutor, Inspector Nigel Butcher on Wednesday, that samples of the drug should leave the state today, Friday, for testing and that the results are expected in about five weeks.

Chief Magistrate Sonya Young adjourned the matter for hearing on October 22.

Law enforcement agents nabbed the men on July 13, 2012, at Fancy Point, aboard the vessel “Rolling Deeper”, in a joint operation between local and Barbadian coastguard officers.(KW)
