Cutting Bangs Using the Twisting Technique

When I was a teenager and bangs were in style, I learned how to cut them myself by watching a YouTube video which used the twisting technique. This technique will definitely save you the trip to the hair salon.

The technique works best when your hair is dry so be sure to wash and dry your hair before cutting. Using a comb, separate the hair you wish to cut from the rest of your hair. Pin the rest of your hair back in a ponytail to keep it out of your way.{{more}}

Comb your bangs out to remove any tangles, then gather them together and twist them a couple times. Avoid pulling the hair down and remember to gently twist the hair. Tight twists could result in shorter bangs.

Centre the bangs, using your nose, then snip the hair with a sharp hairstyling scissors. You can either cut the hair above or below your finger, depending on how long or short you would like the bangs to be.
