20 ways to stay positive
Are the people you work with positive and full of life? Or are they a pack of complaining, negative, frustrated people who just âexistâ?
Even the most positive people can have difficulty staying upbeat when they find themselves in the middle of a sea of depression.{{more}} If you look around and see yourself surrounded by utter hopelessness, use the situation to move yourself closer to your destiny and away from what is hindering you. The last thing you need is people around you who encourage you to live in a negative way. Instead, look for ways to be positive. Here are twenty tips to get you moving into a brighter future.
1. Write down your vision. Where do you want to be in six months, a year, five years? Dream big!
2. Surround yourself with at least two like-minded people.
3. Refuse to discuss people. Remember the adage, âSmall minds discuss people; great minds discuss ideas.â
4. Set daily goals and hold yourself accountable to meet them.
5. Reward yourself when you accomplish small tasks.
6. Focus on the good qualities in people.
7. Remind yourself that everyone is doing the best they can in every given situation.
8. Offer to help others who may be going through tough times. Break out of your pity party, and realize that someone probably has it worse than you do.
9. Know that you cannot save everyone.
10. Schedule time to spend with yourself; do something special for yourself on a regular basis.
11. Start a âgratitude journal.â Write down the little things that bring you joy-for example, list and talk about the fact that you are alive, that you have food, friends, and a place to live, the fact that you can see, walk, talk, and so on . . .
12. Speak words of kindness to at least three people every day.
13. Smile. Smiling releases endorphins that make you younger and help you live longer.
14. Get a good sea bath when possible, just to relax.
15. Learn to accept the things you cannot change in your life.
16. Stop looking at others and wishing for their lives. Everything has a price and you donât know the price they have paid.
17. Lifeâs joy is in relationships, not possessions, so rekindle an old relationship that can be inspiring.
18. Spend time praying. Prayer will do wonders, and you can do it any time-God never sleeps!
19. Define what happiness is to you. Write down your definition and then read your definition daily.
20. Forgive those who hurt you, those who cheat you out of promotions, those who sabotage your work, those who have done injustices to you.
