Saunders was quite keen about staff development

by Susette May
Administrative Officer, CWSA

I had the privilege of knowing Mr Garth Saunders for over 18 years when he re-joined the CWSA as General Manager. For each of those years, I worked as his Executive Secretary.

Saunders, as I affectionately called him, was a man of great stride and was a strong leader. He was very approachable and was quite keen about staff development.
He was always interested in the growth of the CWSA and ensured that the vital services we provide were of a high quality. Saunders wanted this done in an environment that promotes outstanding customer service. I admired his commitment to the CWSA, and his dedication to improving the company.

Saunders was very instrumental in my academic development as he was a firm believer in employees accessing training. I felt comfortable engaging in a discussion with him on any matter. I am grateful to have worked closely with him, and I am elated that I gave him his roses while he was alive.

To his wife Simone, sons Shaun and Aaron, sister Michele, brother Wendell, and all his relatives and friends, we have lost a great son of the soil. May you find comfort in his indelible memories.

Goodbye, Saunders. May your soul rest in eternal peace.
