Tribute to my uncle, the greatest man I ever met

by Patrick Grenier de Lassagne

I was born from an unknown father. By an extraordinary chance, offered by Ken Boyea, I finally met my father in London. He was Patrick Vernon Young, born in Layou. And he was Sir Cecil Cyrus’s brother.

So, being my father’s brother, Cecil was my uncle, and I, his nephew.

Sadly I met Cecil just once in 2006 in St Vincent.

He taught me three things: (1) to have a garden, (2) to read Percy Bysshe Shelley, and (3) he took me for a visit in his clinic.

Honestly he is the greatest man I ever met. I will never forget him, and I will cherish his memory.

God bless him.

RIP
