SVGFF launches Road to VSPL
Twelve clubs placed into two groups will vie for the two top places in Tier II of the 2025/2026 St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation’s (SVGFF) National Club Championships.
Hence, the big prize for the clubs is earning promotion to the next edition of the Vincy Soccer Premier League (VSPL).
The clubs that emerged from the preliminary phase of Tier II are Roxdale, Sharpes FC, Largo Height, SV United, RSVG Police and Sparta (Group A), and in Group B are Strike Force, Glenside Ball Blazers, Blossom Unlimited, Richmond Hill, Owia United and Greiggs.
Matches in this phase are set for Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s and Thursday’s, with double headers each night at Independence Park.
From the group stages, the top clubs then go into the play-offs to determine the winner and runner up.
Head of the tournaments committee, Yosiah Dascent, told SEARCHLIGHT that the build-up and marketing of the Tier II matches form a new thrust in recognizing the division.
“People often pay more attention to the top tier of our football, while the lower divisions get sidelined, hence we are out to change that and place these divisions in the spotlight,” Dascent said.
The second Vice President of the SVGFF also stated that a similar format is in place for those clubs which did not make it to League A.
“We also have a League B where the clubs that did not qualify for League A, have been group[ed] and will have their play-offs as well.”
Making up Group A of League B are Parkside Rollers, K &R Striker, Brownstown, Sharpes FC, DESCO, 1998 Hillside Rollers, and QCESCO Titans; and in Group B are Green Hill, United Strikers, Sion Hill, Richland Park Pride and Joy, Hillview and Toni
Store Jugglers.
The Brighton Technical Centre, the Sir Vincent Beache Stadium, and the Campden Park Playing Field will host the matches in League B.
Both Leagues kicked off on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
