DR swamps St Kitts/Nevis in opening salvo of CONCACAF Under-17 Qualifier
The Dominican Republic Under-17 national football team slammed five unanswered goals to swamp the St. Kitts and Nevis national Under-17 football team in game one of the 2026 CONCACAF Qualifying Group E, at the Arnos Vale Grounds.
This Group features the United States, the Dominican Republic, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and St Vincent and the Grenadines.
The 2:00 p.m. start saw the teams going into the half time with the Dominican Republic enjoying a 2-nil lead, courtesy of strikes by Kamil Castillo in the 15th minute, and Luis Almonte in the 45+2. In the second half, Justin Gomez in the 67th, Miguel Munoz in the 90+2, and Alejandro Lopez in the 90+7, finished the demolition of their Kittitian counterparts.
St. Vincent and the Grenadines played the United States in Friday’s second game, with games scheduled for Saturday 7, and Monday 9, February respectively.
The 2026 CONCACAF Under-17 Qualifiers is the region’s qualifying competition for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup 2026, featuring a single-round format which was introduced for the 2025 edition.
The competition features 34 national teams, split into eight groups. Each team will face every team in its group once throughout the Qualifiers, and the eight group winners will secure a spot in the 2026 FIFA Under-17 World Cup.
