Lamont Gregg retains SVGCC’s Table Tennis Title
THE ST.VINCENT GRAMMAR School’s Lamont Gregg became the first player to successfully defend the St.Vincent and the Grenadines Community College’s Individual Open Table Tennis title.
Gregg, who is also the Secondary Schools’ singles champion, achieved the feat on Friday, January 20, 2026, at the college’s Villa Campus.
Facing Oran-Jay Williams of the Thomas Saunders Secondary School in the final, Gregg comfortably won 11/5, 11/1, 11/1.
Gregg began the day with an 11-2, 9-11, 11-8, 11-1 quarter final victory, when he met Kristrian Christopher. This was the only match that saw Gregg drop a set in the tournament.
Gregg, in the semi-final had an 11/9, 11/5, 11/ 8, win over Loukyha Premraj. Before Friday’s Open final, Premraj of the Girls High School, on Thursday January 29, 2026,
saw off the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies’ Reynesh John, 11/5, 11/1, 11/ 1, to cop the female title.
The 2026 edition of the SVGCC’s Table Tennis Tournament was dubbed “Match Point 2026”.
