High Performance takes charge at Relay Fest
WITH 11 GOLD MEDALS under their belt, athletes from the High Performance Club left the Diamond Track Facility last Saturday, January 24, as the top unit in the 2026 edition of Team Athletics SVG’s Relay Fest.
Fielding competitors in all age groups, High Performance dominated in the Boys Under-13 as well as the Girls Under-11.
The club’s under-13 boys copped the 4 x100m; 4 x 200m; along with the Swedish Medley; whilst the under-11 girls took the 4 x 80m; the 4 x 100m; and the 4 x 150m.
High Performance also ran away with the Girls 1600m Sprint Relay; the Girls Under-15 Swedish Medley; the Under-20 Girls 4 x 400m; and the Girls Under-20 Swedish Medley.
The next best performer was the St Vincent Grammar School. The all-boys institution were victors in the Under-15s 4 x 100m; the 4 x 400m; and the Swedish Medley; along with the Under-20s 4 x 100m; and the 4 x 400m Open.
Also putting in good performances for the primary schools was the CW Prescod, whose Boys Under-11 were unstoppable. Their quartets crossed the finish line ahead of their challengers in the 4 x80m; the 4 x 100m; and the 4 x 150m.
Mustangs were also in winners row in three events: the Under-13 Girls 4 x 100m; the 4 x 200m; and the Swedish Medley.
Rounding up those pouching three gold medals was the Troumaca Ontario Secondary School which triumphed in the Under-15 Girls 4 x 100m; the Girls 4 x 100m Open; and the Under-17 Boys Swedish Medley.
IT DAT Academy trumped the Boys 1600m Sprint Relay and the Under-17 Boys 4 x 400m; with the Girls High School taking the Under-15 Girls 4 x 400m.
Five clubs, four secondary schools, and three primary schools participated in last Saturday’s Relay Fest.
This Saturday, January 31, 2026 Team Athletics SVG will host a development meet also at the Diamond Track Facility.
Tomorrow’s Development will be mainly track events for Under-7s; Under- 11s; Under- 13s; and Open.
Also on the schedule are the Long Jump from Under-13 to Open; and Shot Putt for Under-15s to Open.
