Grenada relieves SVG of Windwards Senior Women’s T/ 20 Cricket title
HOST, STVINCENT AND the Grenadines lost to Grenada by 8-runs, last Friday, January, 9 2026, at the Arnos Vale Playing Field, thus surrendering their hold on the Windward Islands Cricket Board’s Senior Women’s T/ 20 tournament.
Batting first, Grenada posted 103 for 8 from their 20 overs. Aria Fortune made 24 not out and Taylor Dickson- 33.
Jannillea Glasgow was the pick of the Vincentian bowling attack, taking 3 for 18.
Glasgow’s efforts with the bat, 39 not out, were not matched by her fellow batters, as St Vincent and the Grenadines responded with 95 for 8 from 20 overs. Afy Fletcher picked up 3 for 18, as she led her team to victory. The Grenadians played unbeaten.
In the third place play off that preceded the final, St Lucia broke their win-less streak, with a 17- run win over Dominica.
Zaida James slammed 67, and Krishna Joseph, 21, to see St Lucia to 122 all out from their allotted 20 overs. Abini St Jean scalped 3 for 10, and Aidith Gasper had 2 for 19, bowling for Dominica.
St Lucia’s bowling, engineered by Narissa Crafton’s 4 for 2, bettered Earnisha Fontaine’s 31, and 24 from Gem Eloi, as Dominica was dismissed for 105 from 16 overs.
Grenada’s Afy Fletcher emerged as the Player of the Tournament, scoring 174 runs, and taking 5 wickets.
Dominica’s Earnisha Fontaine was the top wicket keeper snaring 2 catches and 2 stumpings.
