SVG debuts at Youth Pan American Karate Championships

TWO YOUNG VINCENTIAN KARATEKAS, along with a coach and team manager created their own kick, by becoming the first to represent their country at theYouth Pan American Karate Championships, 2025, Karatekas, Christian Joseph and Amiyah Bascombe, along with coach, Adrian John, and Allyson Bascombe, team manager, are the history makers.

They are part of the championships held in Asunción, Paraguay from August 27-30, 2025.

Joseph is competing in the Junior Male Kata and Kumite events, while Amiyah is in the Under-14 Girls Division, competing in the Kumite.

Before departing St Vincent and the Grenadines, last Monday, August 24, John was grateful that the contingent was establishing a piece of local Karate history.

“This is more than just a competition, it’s a statement of growth, resilience, and national pride. We’re honoured to represent SVG and showcase the talent and discipline of our young athletes,” John commented.

The 34th Pan American Karate Championships is sanctioned by the Panamerican Karate Federation (PKF) and gives top youth athletes from across the region the shoo at a high level of competition.
