Golden Knights take two titles in Bequia Basketball Tournament
GOLDEN KNIGHTS defeated Hornets 30-10, last Saturday night, August 16, to win the Under-16 Division of the 2025 Bequia Basketball Competition at the Clive Tannis Hard Court.
Leading the way for the victors was Marquise Mercury who registered 10 points, along with 3 rebounds and 1 steal.
Hornets’ top scorer was River Hackshaw who had 6 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 steals.
Then on Sunday, August 17, Golden Knights’ clan was again triumphant,, taking the Second Division title.
Golden Knights beat Rising Stars 75-67, led by Kenjay Phillips’ 18 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.
For Rising Stars, Shamarke Frederick had a game high 25 points and 13 rebounds.
In other results on the weekend, Sonics recorded two wins in the First Division. On Saturday, Sonics had a 59-45 win over East, and on Sunday defeated East Blazers, 66-43.
East Blazers on Saturday had edged out Court Kings 67-65.
This Saturday, August 23, will see the semifinals in the First Division as Sonics meet Mayreau in game one, and in game two, East Blazers will face Court Kings.
