System Three clinches Tier II Football title
A late Azhino Solomon goal last Friday, August, 8, 2025, versus Bequia United, gave System Three the title of champions of Tier II in the 2024-2025 St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation’s National Club Championships.
Solomon’s winner caused an eruption of joy among the System Three players and fans at the Brighton Playing Field, as the match seemed destined for extra time.
In an entertaining final, both teams slugged it out, although they were guilty of missing some clear chances. However, it was Bequia United that struck first through their inspirational captain, Mark Browne, in the 15th minute. Cori Barbour equalized for System Three in the 27th minute.
The last say was left to Solomon who made amends for some earlier blushes, before beating Josh Stowe in the Bequia United goal in minute 90 + 4.
En route to the protracted final, System Three trounced Parkside Rollers 4-1 in the quarter finals, and edged out Owia United 2-1 in the semifinals, while Bequia defeated Glenside Ball Blazers 3-2 in the quarter finals, and Volcanoes 5-3 in the semis.
Volcanoes went on to take the third place, defeating Owia United 2-1.
Je Quan Adams and Delano Benjamin were the goal scorers for Volcanoes, with De Nelsen Nero netting for Owia United.
By virtue of reaching the finals, both System Three and Bequia United are promoted to the Premier Division of the next club championships, doing so at the expense of SV United and Sion Hill.
