Hadley set to sail at Junior Pan American Games

Scarlett Hadley is St Vincent and the Grenadines’ representative at the sailing event of the 2025 Junior Pan American Games in Paraguay.

Hadley will compete in the Women’s Single Handed Dinghy category, set for August 15 to 17 at the Jose Beach in Encarnacion.

Before entering the competition, Hadley underwent intense training from coach and Olympian, Andrew Lewis from Trinidad and Tobago, and overseen by Team Manager, Penny Mac Intyre from Barbados.

Much of Hadley’s preparations were made possible through support from the SVG National Olympic Committee (SVGNOC).

Due to funding provided by the SVGOC, Hadley received training here in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), in the Bahamas and also in Paraguay.

The Vincentian sailor, who represented SVG at the Pan American Games in 2023, in Chile, expressed gratitude for another opportunity to show her talent at the Junior Pan-Am Games.

“I’m honoured to represent my country and work closely with a team of sailors from Barbados, Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago,” a release from the SVG Swimming Association quotes Hadley as stating.

“This is an amazing opportunity to race against the best in the region and push myself to new levels.”
