TBPO Softball Cricket moving forward

Four matches were decided on the weekend of Saturday, June, 14, and Sunday, June 15, in the 2025 National Lotteries Authority TBPO Softball Competition at the Dauphine Playing Field.

However, the weekend got off to a bad start as Young Stallions won by default when Vinlec Power Stars failed to show up for the game.

Then in match two on Saturday, former champions, Sion Hill Tallawahs saw off Greiggs Young Stars by six wickets.

Greiggs Young Stars made 66 all out in 16.2 overs. Dillon Woodley scored 28.

Bowling for Tallawahs, Alex Roberts picked up 4 for 4; Shawn William 2 for 10; and Shamic Roberts 2 for 14.

Tallawahs responded with 67 for 4 from 9 overs. Kerwin Williams, 29, and Shamic Roberts, 23.

For Young Stars, Ozande Baptiste picked up 3 for 30.

In Sunday’s first match, Gomea Bombers outplayed Hill Top, defeating them by 100 runs.

Gomea Bombers made 202 for 3 in 18 overs, with Norlan Williams, scoring 57 not out; Ovando O’ Brien, 39; and Sheldon Nanton, 21. Julian Toby had 2 for 30, bowling for Hill Top, who were then dismissed for 102 in 12.2 overs. Avery Gibson top scored with 28, while Everton Durant picked up 2 wickets for 6 runs. Desmond Bramble and Glenroy John each scalped 2 for 16.

In match two on Sunday, Dauphine United overcame Older Boys by 31 runs.

Dauphine United compiled 165 runs all out in 16.2 overs; Juan Laborde, 52; Andrell Bailey, 21; and Osborne Franklyn, 20.

Kenroy Martin 3 for 18; McDonald Simmons 3 for 36; Randell Carter 2 for 28; and Rohan King, 2 for 47, shared the wickets for Older Boys.

In reply, Older Boys were stymied for 134 for 5 in 20 overs.

Dale Hope, 37; Rafique Cumberbatch, 28; Sheldon Dasouza, 24; had decent double figures, while Mc Leon Browne picked up 2 wickets for 25, bowling for Dauphine United.
