Shamic Roberts joins the century list in TBPO Softball Cricket
Shamic Roberts hit the second century in the 2025 National Lotteries Authority TBPO T/20 Softball Cricket Competition, last Saturday, June 7, at the Dauphine Playing Field.
Roberts struck 102 not out from 52 balls to lead Sion Hill Tallawahs to 160 for 5 from 18 overs versus Fairbaine United.
In between Roberts’ ball beating, Christon Williams took 2/ 25, bowling for Fairbaine United, who in reply collapsed for 71 all out in 11.3 overs. Dave Duncan scored 17.
Bowling for Tallawahs, Denson Hoyte took 3 for 10, Shawn Williams 3 / 30 and Shamic Roberts 2 /7.
In Saturday’s second match, defending champions Country Meet Town Out Ah Trouble, beat Young Stallions by four wickets to stay in pace with their title chase.
Young Stallions made 110 all out in 18.1 overs; Vincent Cupid scored 35, Kentish Phillips and Raje Questelles contributed 20 each.
For Out Ah Trouble, Davian Barnum took 3 /25, Renrick Williams 2/ 5, Asif Hooper 2 /10, and Richie Richards 2/21.
Out Ah Trouble responded with 114 for 6 in 8.2 overs. Stein Joseph hit 24. For Young Stallions, Danroy Hazel copped 3 wickets for 47, and Raje Questelles had 2/ 23.
Sunday’s matches resulted in wins for Kombat Warriors, East Kingstown and AIA Reload.
Kombat Warriors won over Duck Squad by nine wickets.
Duck Squad United made 73 all out in 16.5 overs. Zane Greaves scored 19.
Danroy Fergus 4 for 9, Kerwin Browne 2/7, and Donaldson Harry 2/17, were the most successful bowlers for Kombat Warriors, who then responded with 74 for 1 in 6.5 overs.
Rajiv Roberts led with 22 not out.
East Kingstown then overcame Bank of SVG All Stars by four wickets.
All Stars reached 143 for 8 in 20 overs. Kelly Murray scored 31, Elton Williams 24 not out, and Newborne Joseph 21.
Delano Webb 3 for 19, and Javon Seales 2/28, were the pick of the bowlers for East Kingstown.
East Kingstown’s reply was 144 for 6 in 18 overs. Jerrel Edwards made 63 not out, and Javon Seales scored 44 not out. Kelly Murray picked up 3 wickets for 15 runs.
And AIA Reload defeated Older Boys by 24 runs in a reduced fixture because of a late start occasioned by rain.
Altered to 15 overs per side, AIA Reload posted 133 for 7 from their allotted overs.
Zeron Harry 38, and Jerome James 26 not out, were the main contributors; while Mc Donald Simmons 2/10, and Wilfred Bascombe 2 / 23, got the bulk of the wickets for Older Boys.
Older Boys then made 109 for 7 in their 15 overs. Mc Donald Simmons scored 27.
Bowling for AIA Reload, Zeron Harry scalped 2/12 and Sylvano Greene 2/21.
