Desron Maloney slams a ton in TBPO Softball Cricket

A blistering century- 142 from Desron Maloney, was the highlight of last weekend’s matches in the National

Lotteries Authority/ TBPO 20/20 Softball Cricket Competition.

Maloney lit up the Dauphine Playing Field on Saturday, May 21, 2025, slamming 4 fours and 19 sixes from 71 balls, to lead Kombat Warriors’ batting versus Dauphine United.

Fellow national cricketer, Romano Pierre, contributed 58 as they rushed to 228 for 6 from their 20 overs.

Amidst the carnage, Leo Williams took 2/67.

Dauphine United’s response was 161 all out in 19.2 overs. Asborne Franklyn scored 22, and Juan Laborde made 21.

Kamel Jackson had 2 for 13; Kerwin Browne 2/20; Romano Pierre 2/ 31, bowling for Kombat Warriors, as they won by 67 runs.

That was the lone action on the day, as Hill Top won by default over Vinlec Power Stars.

Meanwhile on Sunday, June 1, defending champions, Country Meet Town Out Ah Trouble continued to show their prowess with a commanding 120 run win against East Kingstown.

Out Ah Trouble posted 214 for 7 in 20 overs. Stein Joseph 63; Davian Barnum 60; Jabari Cunningham 42; and Sunil Ambris 24.

Bowling for East Kingstown, Otis Hector picked up 2 for 36, and Delano Webb 2/37.

In reply, East Kingstown reached 94 for 9 in 20 overs. Winston Patterson was 21 not out.

Kenron Williams had 3 for 27; Richie Richards 2/ 7; and Sunil James 2/ 24, bowling for Out Ah Trouble.

Prior to that encounter, Greiggs Young Stars won by 13 runs over AIA Reload.

Young Stars made 162 for 5 in 20 overs. Dillon Woodley scored 51, and Deron John 37.

Tyrone Smith, 2 for 18; and Jerome James 2/ 38, were AIA Reload’s most successful bowlers.

AIA Reload responded with 149 all out in 18.3 overs. Tyrone Smith scored 43; Zeron Harry 26 not out; Okeitho Williams 21; and Raffique Sayers 20.

Cody Jarvis took 3 for 32, and Jason Daniel 3/33.

The other victor on Sunday was Duck Squad United, who beat Older Boys by three wickets.

Older Boys chalked up 100 for 6 in 20 overs, with Wilfred Bascombe contributing 25.

Bowling for Duck Squad, Dante Williams scalped 2 wickets for 5 runs; Tevin Miller 2/ 27; and Deon Soleyn 2/ 33.

Duck Squad United responded with 106 for 7 in 12.1 overs. Jabari Guy made 43 not out. Bowling for Older Boys, Rohan King had 4 for 42, and Wilfred Bascombe 2/12.
