Two Vincentians retain seats on Windwards Cricket Board

Two Vincentians have retained their positions on the executive committee of the Windward Islands Cricket Board during its annual general meeting held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, in Grenada.

Kesron Walters was re-elected as secretary, while Jenry Ollivierre was retained as treasurer.

The election comes on the heels of a transitional period which began in October, 2024 following the resignation of then President Dwain Gill, who took up a new position with Cricket West Indies. In the interim, Clement Marcellin of Dominica served as Acting President, with Wayne Auguste of Saint Lucia serving as Acting Vice-President.

In what has been described as “a new slate of leadership”, the May, 17, 2025 WICB election confirmed the leadership of Marcellin and Auguste who were elected unopposed to serve a two-year term.

The 2025-2027 Executive comprises: President, Clement Marcellin (Dominica); Vice-President, Wayne Auguste (Saint Lucia); Secretary, Kesron Walters (St Vincent and the Grenadines); Treasurer, Jenry Ollivierre (SVG).

Romel Currency is Chief Executive Officer.

Board Members are: Dougal James and Kaschaka Cupid of St Vincent and the Grenadines; Norman Gilbert and Randel Baptiste of Grenada; Jamie Jno Baptiste and Jesse Bardouille of Dominica); and John Estephane of Saint Lucia.

President Marcellin and Vice-President Auguste will also serve as the Windward Islands Cricket Board’s Directors on the Cricket West Indies Board, while Jamie Jno Baptiste and John Estephane will serve as alternates.

CEO Currency said the new term marks a renewed commitment to governance, growth, and development of cricket across the Windward Islands.

Speaking after the election, newly elected President, Marcellin, expressed gratitude for the support of the member territories and outlined the Board’s continued focus on development.

“I am deeply honoured to be entrusted with this responsibility. We’ve made meaningful progress, but our mission continues—to elevate the standard of cricket in every territory and ensure players, male and female, are supported at every level.”

Vice-President Auguste, emphasizing the importance of partnership added, “This is a team effort. We are committed to building strong systems, from grass roots to elite, to ensure that talent is not only discovered but developed across the Windward Islands”.
