SVG Ready to Host WINLOTT Games 2025

St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), is ramping up preparations to host the 2025 Windward Islands School Games (WISG). To this end, the organising committee for the games held a two-day regional meeting on May 22 and 23, 2025, at the conference room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to finalise preparations.

The first day of the meeting involved an opening ceremony where Minister of Sports, Orande Brewster, explained that due to impact of Hurricane Beryl in 2024, SVG was unable to host the games, but everything is in place to host the 2025 edition, and he expressed high expectations for the games.

“We are here with all of the stakeholders, making sure that we plan … mak[ing] sure we have all the pieces and parts in place so that we can have a successful WINLOTT games 2025.”

The Windward Islands Schools’ Games (WISG is a significant annual multi-sport event that brings together student-athletes from Dominica, Grenada, Saint Lucia, and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

The games are intended to foster camaraderie among the athletes and encourage the development of their athletic talents.

The games, will run from July 26 to August 3, 2025 and will be held at various venues, including the Chili playing field in Georgetown, and the Arnos Vale Stadium. (API)
