Barrouallie pedal cyclists receive head gear

SEVERAL PEDAL CYCLISTS from the Barrouallie community who use this mode of transport to get around the country now have one less headache. They were the recipients of helmets, compliments the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cycling Union.

A presentation made last Sunday, May 4, 2025, saw the pedal cyclists accepting the gear with a smile of gratitude. For most, it was a timely presentation as they have had their cycles taken away because they were unable to afford a protective helmet.

President of the SVG Cycling Union, Shimano Bailey, noted that the presentation was part of the organisation’s continued effort to ensure safety on the roads for pedal cyclists.

Bailey said the Cycling Union remains committed to the cause of “safety” and, in collaboration with the local constabulary, will soon make more presentations. The SVG Cycling Union has made similar presentations in schools and other communities.
