Panam Sports and Paraguay Olympic Committee prepare athletes for Junior Panam Games
WITH THE MAIN objective of promoting sports performance, achieving acclimatization and adaptation in the host country, encouraging integration and cultural exchange, and sharing experiences, advancements, and best practices, Panam Sports and the Paraguayan Olympic Committee have organized a series of training camps in preparation for the great youth sports celebration of the year, the Asuncion 2025 Junior Pan American Games.
In total, more than 1,000 athletes and 300 coaches from 14 disciplines will participate in this series of camps: Olympic Wrestling, Squash, Beach Volleyball, Fencing, Taekwondo, Basketball 3×3, Judo, Triathlon, Karate, Swimming, Athletics, Weightlifting, Rowing, and Archery.
The first camp from April 25- May 4, 2025, has gathered wrestling athletes, while the last one will be the archery camp scheduled for August 2-6, exactly one week before the opening of the Games, a Panam Sports release states.
“We are very happy and excited with these camps organized by Panam Sports and the Paraguayan Olympic Committee. All of this will directly benefit the athletes of our continent who are preparing for ASU2025.We will have first class infrastructure and equipment and outstanding coaches and sports professionals that I am sure will help make this an unforgettable experience for all our athletes,” said the Secretary General of Panam Sports, Jimena Saldaña.
For his part, the President of the COP, Camilo Perez was emphatic in pointing out that “we are eager to be able to welcome our athletes from the continent. As a country and as an Olympic Committee, we have worked hard for the success of these camps, which will be the perfect prelude to our great continental youth celebration, the ASU2025 Junior Pan American Games. We are waiting for the athletes with open arms.”
The training camps are not only focused on the athletes’ sports-physical aspects; a series of activities, workshops and cultural experiences are included during this preparation opportunity.
Thus, the participants of these camps will have, among other activities, workshops on sports psychology, doping, nutrition, cultural activities, masterclass with high-level international experts, and training of athletes and coaches.
