New winners emerge in Community College 2025 Table Tennis
Shanecia Delpesche and Lamont Gregg became the new Female and Open Category champions respectively, in the 2025 St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College’s (SVGCC) Individuals Open Table Tennis Competition, that ended last Friday, January 24, at the Student Union Hall, Villa Campus.
Dubbed “Serve Up 25”, Delpesche on Thursday, January 23, stopped Loukhya Premraj in straight sets 11-6, 11-7, 11-9.
Before reaching the final, Delpesche defeated Monecia John 11-3, 11-6, 11-5; while Premraj, the female runner-up in 2024, won her semi-final match against Renesha John 11-5, 11-8, 11-6.
Gregg, of the St. Vincent Grammar School, earned his coronation on Friday, January 24, from one set down to defeat the Troumaca Ontario Secondary School’s Kimoni Shoy 11-13, 11-9, 11-8, 11-3, in the final.
In his journey to the title, Gregg beat Kristian Christopher 11-9, 11-5, 11-4 in the quarter finals, and saw off Oranjay Wiliams of the Thomas Saunders Secondary, 11-5, 11-5, 11-9 in the semi finals.
Shoy, the 2025 Open Category runner-up, defeated Macahlie Hazelwood 11-6, 11-9, 5-11, 11-8 in the quarter finals before ousting J’Quan St. Hill of the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies 8-11, 8- 11, 11-9, 12-10, 11-5 in a humdinger semi final battle.
Williams secured the third place after defeating St. Hill 10 -12, 11-7, 11-6, 11-7.
In 2024, Jessica Mc Carter won the female title and Caleb Howard was the Open Category winner.
