A team of Vincentian archers will compete in the sixth edition of the World Archery Americas Caribbean Development Championships (CDC) set for Ocho Rios, Jamaica, from July 10 – 14, 2024.

As such, the Archery Association of St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), has named a team of four archers and a coach to participate in the event.

The national team is comprised of Richol Richards, who will compete in the Recurve Women Development Category, shooting 50 metres; along with Karen Palmer, in the Recurve Women Beginner Category, shooting 30 metres.

Divya Jiandani, will contest the Recurve U-18 Women Development Category, shooting 50m; and the lone male representative, Jared Nichols, is in the Recurve U-21 Men Development Category, shooting 50 metres.

President of the Archery Association, Sanjay Jiandani will be the team’s coach.

Sanctioned by World Archery Americas, the CDC is the premier archery tournament in the

Caribbean, and is open to all countries in the Americas.

It will be the second time that St. Vincent and the Grenadines has entered a team at an international event.

In 2023, SVG was successful at the fifth edition of the CDC, staged at the Dwight Yorke Stadium in

Tobago, copping five medals in four categories.
