Black Sands celebrate their swimmers at Barbados Invitational
Black Sands Swim Club (BSSS), has applauded their swimmers who were part of St Vincent and the Grenadines’s representation at the May 23-26 Barbados Invitational Swim Meet.
The Club said in a release that Alexander Joachim and Kennice Greene lead the way, both winning several medals in their individual races.
Joachim copped 3 gold and 5 silver medals and placed second overall in the boys 15 Years and Over category.
Greene won 1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals and also finished second overall in the girls 15 Years and Over category.
Other BSSS medal winners were:
• Kione Deshong ,1 gold and 1 silver; William Bryer, 1 gold; Kenale Alleyne, 1 silver; Eltonique Leonard, 2 bronze medals.
Joachim who set two new national records in the 50 meter Backstroke, and the 200 meter Freestyle (national open) was specially noted by his Club. BSSS also applauded sisters Karina, Nua, Ebi and Zizi Griffith who had their first outing competing in a 50 meter pool.
Although they did not make it to the medal podium, all four sisters were said to have swam personal best times in their events.
