National Men’s Squash titles decided

In the grand finals played May 10, 2024, a trimmed Snagg enjoyed the benefits of his deliberate weight loss programme, and easily beat Othneil Bailey 11-3, 11-3, 11-4, in what turned out to be a one sided- affair.
The final thus epitomised Snagg’s dominance throughout, as he registered 3-0 wins over Sebastian Cyrus and Jlan Mc Master, before doing the same to Bailey.
Likewise, Bailey had inflicted 3-0 wins over Deron Lewis and Jayden George, but was unable to replicate the form in the title match, as he had a more athletic Snagg to contend with.
Docking in third was George, who won over Jlan Mc Master, 11-4, 11-6, 11-7, earning himself some consolation.
Meanwhile, the advanced age category final was closer, but De Freitas got the better of Paul Cyrus, 11-5, 11-8, 11-6, on his way to the title.
De Freitas’ pathway to the national title, saw him battling Raffique Browne in the semi-finals, but prevailed 11-5, 8-11, 11-3, 11-6. De Freitas did not play in the first phase as he gained a bye.
But the match up of the championships was in the other semi-finals, where Paul Cyrus beat his brother, Mark in a five setter, 7-11, 11-8, 9-11, 11-7, 11-2.
Browne claimed the third spot, as he ousted Mark Cyrus, 6-11, 11-9, 11-7, 9-11, 11-7.
The Masters category, also saw the participation of Dominic Ross, Nicholas Boyea and Collin Alexander.
