Football Federation appoints new Acting General Secretary

Peter Edward is the new general secretary of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation (SVGFF), but in an acting capacity.

Edward thus takes over from Devron Poyer, who was in the position from 2018 to 2024. Poyer resigned in March, just ahead of the organisation’s Elective Congress.

In announcing the appointment of Edward, president of the SVGFF, Otashie Spring said he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the organisation, and possesses exceptional leadership qualities.

Edward will bring to bear his stint as export development officer with Invest SVG, manager of Aeropost, and manager of La Vue Beach Club and Boutique, among others to the benefit of the growth of the SVGFF.

Edward, who holds a Master’s Degree in Marketing/ Marketing Management has the task of overseeing the administrative operations of the SVGFF, coordinating various programmes and innovations pursued by the national football body, as well as ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Spring said Edward will be involved in fostering positive relationships with stakeholders both locally and internationally, to advance the interests of football here in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
