Goal shooters take aim in National Club Championships

ZANIQUEVINCENT OF National Properties Netters was the leading female goalshoot in Division One of the National Netball tournament at the end of April with 80 goals. She is ahead of Maryann Frederick of On Trac X-Ceed with 70 goals in second place, while in third place is Skiddy Francis of Maple with 41 goals.

This is according to the updated statistics for the period ending April 30, 2024 in the Bank of St.Vincent and the Grenadines sponsored St.Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association National Club Netball Championships.

However, Francis is the most accurate Division One goal-shoot with an accuracy rate of 89.13 percent. She is followed by Maryann Frederick in second place with 86.42 percent, and in third is Zanique Vincent third with 80 percent.

In Division Two, Annicia Dallaway has the most goals, 190, and is also that division’s most accurate goalshoot with 81.55 percent shooting accuracy.

Division Two’s second place goal-shoot is Sharlene Wyllie of CashWiz Green Hill Sports and Cultural Club with 84 goals, and third is Meshanda Creese of Bagga United with 83 goals.

Diana Robinson of All Stars is the leading goal shooter in Division Three with 49 goals, in second place is Shania Browne of Sion Hill Netball Team (2) with 33 goals, and in third place is Jenella Andrews of WHIT VETS with 23 goals.

Division Three’s most accurate goal-shoot is Britney John of CDl Dutch Lady Clinchers with 80.95 percent shooting accuracy.

In the Development Division, the leading goal-shoot is Nickyla Tannis of the Police Youth Club Ball Blazers with 116 goals. Shonnel Douglas of X-ceed Sports Club (3) with 85 goals is in second place, and in third place is Olivia Castello of Blaze Strikers with 84 goals.

Douglas is also the most accurate shooter in that division with a 85 percent accuracy rate.

In the male division, Dorian Layne of Maca Crushers leads the goal scoring with 162 goals, followed in second place by Akeil Bute of X-ceed Knights with 120 goals, and Javon Edwards of AM Shottas, 46 goals, in third place.

Bute, with a 91.60 percent accuracy is the most accurate goal shooter thus far.
