Grammar School returns to Penn Relays

The St Vincent Grammar School has returned to the Penn Relays that take place at Franklin Field,Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA,from today, April 26, 2024.

Those representing the Grammar School’s team are Keo Davis, Leemore Ollivierre, Loic Paul, Jeremy Martin, Matthew Robinson, Sean Henry and Amari Hercules.

Davis, Paul, Hercules and Robinson are listed in event # 329- the 4 x 100m heats scheduled for a 11:40 start, today.

Also today, April 26,2024, Henry is set to compete in the Triple Jump.

Then on Saturday, April 27, Davis, Martin, Ollivierre and Robinson will compete in event # 527- the 4x 400m heats scheduled to run off at 10:08 a.m.

The Grammar School first entered the Penn Relays in 2017 and made subsequent trips in 2018 and 2019. None was held in 2020 and 2021, because of the coronavirus pandemic. However, the all-male institution did not journey for the 2022 and 2023 editions.

In the school’s inaugural outing, the quartets timed 44.30s in the 4x100m, and 3:27 in the 4 x 400m.

In 2018, the 4 x 100m time was 44.92s, and in the 4 x 400m, the clocking was 3:22.18.

And, in 2019, the Grammar School’s 4 x 100m time was 44.66s, and the 4 x400m, 3:24.90.

The 2024 Penn Relays began yesterday, Thursday April 25, 2024, and concludes on April 27.

The Relays began in 1895, and is the oldest track and field event in the history of the United States of America.
