Over 30 new schools athletics records set this year

The 2024 Inter-Primary Schools Athletics Championships on March 20, 2024, and the Inter-Secondary Schools Championship held on the following day Thursday, March 21, 2024, both at the Sir Vincent Beache athletics facility, saw a unprecedented 38 new records being established.

Fourteen new records were set by the competing Primary Schools while the Secondary Schools set 24.

The Primary Schools girls accounted for seven of those records while the boys set seven- seven of the new records were established in the relays.

Seven new relay records were also established by athletes from the Secondary Schools, and of the total number of 24 new records among these athletes, 10 were set by the females and the males accounted for 14.
