Dascent aims for higher on SVGFF Executive Committee

After serving two four years terms as a committee member on the executive committee of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation (SVGFF), Yosiah Dascent thinks it is time for elevation.

Hence, he will be seeking to become the next second vice-president of the organisation when elections take place later this month.

The Elective Congress of the SVGFF is set for March 21, 2024, at the Methodist Church Hall.

“ Given my 17 years as president of the Glenside Ball Blazers, along with my tenure as president of the Marriaqua Football Association, as well as the Cane End Netball Association, and as a committee member of the SVGFF, I have gathered experience all round spanning near two decades of community service”, Dascent declared.

Listing more of his accomplishments, Dascent added, “As the chair of the marketing committee of the SVGFF for the past six years; chair of the All Windwards Inter- League, have served me in good stead to become the best second vice president when the history of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation is written”.

An all rounder of sorts, Dascent has also been contributing to coaching in the Marriaqua Valley.

“ I have had a remarkable career spanning 23 years with Glenside, most significantly nurturing the football abilities of players who have transitioned from the Under-13 on to the senior level.”

A police officer by profession, Dascent has impacted the lives of many young people, and sees himself as an exemplar for integrity and honesty.

“As the lead of the Glenside Ball Blazers and as a police officer, I am guided by the core values that promote strong citizenry, therefore, I ensure that members of my club… keep on the straight and narrow…

“ I carry out the mandate of the constabulary with the highest esteem possible”, Dascent underlined.

He disclosed that his community involvement has put him in connection with various sectors of the Vincentian society and he has played a pivotal role in the Sports Against Crime Initiative.

“Notwithstanding the fact that I have been at the forefront of the Sports against Crime initiative whereby sports is being used as a conduit to lessen the incidences of deviances by our young people especially, I brought all my engagements to bear, as we all play our part in getting a dent on crime and criminality.”

Given his breadth of experience, Dascent thinks he is in a good position to be that invaluable administrative asset as second vice president of the SVGFF once elected.

Dascent is part of Team Spring that will contest the upcoming elections of the SVGFF.
