Honours shared in Tarmac event

The honours were shared last Sunday February 11, 2024, when the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cycling Association staged the Premium Products/ Tus-T Water races at the Tarmac of the decommissioned E.T Joshua Airport.

Champing Category Two of the 15 lap event was Gabriel Culzac in 50:41.27. Second to him was his father, Deptor Culzac, whose time was 50:45.05; and third was Martin Bollers in 51.02.15.

But the pack shuffled in the 3-lap events as the durable Peter Durrant was ahead of the pack in 9:56.85. Placing second was Deptor Culzac; and third, Gabriel Culzac, who timed 9:59.63.

Meanwhile, Lucky Antrobus outrode Albert Quammie, his lone opponent in Category One of the 15 laps as he won in 46:08.11. Quammie’s time was 46:44.05.

The reverse, though, took place in the 3- laps with Quammie winning in 9:55.07, while Antrobus stopped the clock at 9:56.46.

Antrobus, however, had the last say as he capped off the afternoon, winning the Sprint event, as the cyclists rode off into the sunset but not before they were rewarded with cash for their efforts.
