Track Clubs get financial assistance from Rotary Club South

Four local Track and Field Clubs have received financial assistance from the Rotary Club of St Vincent South.

The recipients are IT- DAT Academy; High Performance; R.O.S. E.S Academy; and Team Mustangs.

A formal handing over to the four clubs took place on Saturday January 27, 2024 at the Diamond Track Facility in which the symbolic cheque of $15,000 was presented.

Funding for the clubs was in keeping with the Rotary Club St Vincent South’s Women and Male Empowerment Project.

A key component to the funds received by the four clubs was a $500 donation to an athlete who lived in the “red zone”, as demarcated during the volcanic eruption of La Soufriere in April, 2021.

All coaches of the four recipient clubs were thankful for the Rotary Club’s gesture noting that it was timely.

Coaches present at the brief ceremony were Sorenya Miller of IT DAT Academy; Chester Morgan- High Performance; Romique Hooper- ROSES Academy; and Wildanrick Samuel-Team Mustangs.
