Cane End Netball tourney opens Sunday

This Sunday, January 14, 2024 will see the opening of the Cane End Netball competition at the newly-built Glenside Recreational Centre.

A formal opening ceremony beginning at 4:00 p.m, followed by two competitive matches plus an exhibition encounter, will usher in the first netball competition at the venue.

Getting the netball action started, from about 5:00 p.m, will be the Second Division match featuring Conquerors and Glenside Ball Blazers, with Star Girls and Vultures battling in the First Division.

An exhibition Fast-5 match between two male teams, follows the competitive matches.

Thus far, four teams have registered in the Second Division, inclusive of RSVG Police and All Stars, while Avengers is the other entrant in the First Division.

Matches in the competition are slated for Saturdays and Sundays only.

Cash prizes and trophies are in store for the three top places in each division.

The team that emerges winner of the Second Division gets $700, second place, $500 and third, $300.

Meanwhile, the top three places in the First Division will receive $1,200 $800 and $500, respectively.
