Under-17 female footballers dock second

St Vincent and the Grenadines Under-17 female footballers docked second to host Trinidad and Tobago in the Jewels of the Caribbean Tournament.

Wins versus Trinidad and Tobago B and Grenada were the Vincentians’ highlight points.

St Vincent and the Grenadines’ Under-17 lasses opened with a 1-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago, December 16, 2023 at the Larry Gomes Stadium. Meiya Wilson was the lone scorer.

The following day, December 17, when the tournament switched to the Haseley Crawford Stadium, St Vincent and the Grenadines came away 2-1 winners over Grenada. Wilson and Vinesha Johnson were on target for the Vincentian outfit.

However, St Vincent and the Grenadines were defeated 4-0 by Trinidad and Tobago A on December 18, in the last of the preliminary round.

When the two met in the final on December 20, the score-line was again in favour of Trinidad and Tobago A, 2-0.

The Vincentian team read: G-Riesa Joseph and Rhea Thompson – Goal keepers, with Kellisha Bowens, Sheronique Joseph, Carmel Myers, Rebekah John, Davion James and Azumi Quow, the defenders.

Making up the Midfielders were Nasheeka Prescott, Leona Barrow, Kacy Browne, Niveah Richards, Meiya Wilson, Cherish Laborde and Larissa Richards, with the forwards -Stephanie Hunte, Emalia James and Vinesha Johnson.

The management team was Head Coach- Andrew Bramble, Assistant Coach- Amalis Marshall, along with Goal Keeper Coach- Kevin Richardson.

The Team Manager was Kimesha Stephens, Sports Psychologist – Kia Prince and Tournament Administrator- Shevorn Trimmingham.
