Squash duo set for Barbados Junior Championships

St Vincent and the Grenadines will be represented by Jayden George and Savante Padmore at this weekend’s segment of the Barbados Junior Squash Championships.

Set for the Barbados Squash Club, from November 30 to December 3, George and Padmore are expected to provide some stiff competition for their opponents.

George, the reigning Under-15 Boys champion at Junior Caribbean Area Squash Association (CASA), will compete in the Under-15 age group, as well as the mixed Under-19 age category.

George, who won the Under-11 title in 2019 and the Under-13s in 2022, at Junior CASA, is tipped as one of the championship’s favourites.

His outing at the Barbados Championships was made possible thanks to Dr Sherian Slater, Diamond Grocery and former national Squash player Leroy Edwards.

For George, it will be good tune up, as he heads out to the US Open later this month in Philadelphia.

Meanwhile, Padmore is down to do battle in the Boys Under-11 and Boys Under-13 age segments.

He too, is expected show his worth against his peers from the region.
