Masters Cricket ends Sunday

The Masters T/20 Cricket competition ends this Sunday, November 26, 2023 with the final from 1 pm at the Sion Hill Playing Field.

However, the finalists will be determined on Saturday, November 25, when the semi-finals are convened.

Beginning at the 1:30 pm, North East and 007 Sports Bar Ptani play at Park Hill, while at the Stubbs Playing Field, Stanley Browne Stubbs take on defending champions- RSVG Police.

The four got to this stage, following wins in their quarter finals, last weekend, Saturday November, 18 and Sunday, November,19.

On Saturday, North East defeated Stroke Masters by 46 runs at the Park Hill Playing Field, North East- 112 all out from 16.5 overs. Romel Olliviere 25 and Harvey Pope 24.

Grantley Constance 4 for 23 and Ezekiel Trimingham 3 for 22, bowling for Strokes Masters, who were then bowled out for 66 in 18.1 overs.

Marcus Castello 4 for 16 and Deighton Butler 3 for 6, were North East most successful bowlers.

On Sunday at the Stubbs Playing Field, Stubbs beat Cato Heavy Equipment Glamorgan by five wickets.

Glamorgan posted  142 for 6 off 20 overs. Dexter Small 59 and Jerome Dick 47. Bowling for Stubbs,  Basil Andrews took 3 for 27 and Ricky Thomas 2 for 28.  Stubbs, on the back of Kissinger Mc Lean’s 84, rushed to 144 for 5 from 15.3 overs.  Also, at the Stubbs Playing Field on Sunday, Ptani saw off Budgmart Pastures by seven wickets.

Pastures were restricted to 81 for 9 from their 20 overs. Marvin Small- 28 and Aniston Lawrence- 21.

Bowling for Ptani, Reginald Jeffrey 3 for 10 and Norlan Williams 3 for 18, Ptani- 84 for 3 from 11.3 overs. Romel Currency- 35 not out and Patrick Thomas- 22.

And, defending champions – RSVG Police got the better of Davis Construction Bequia by eight wickets.

Bequia – 127 for 6 off 20 overs; Sherlon Pompey 47. For RSVG Police, Vertil Davis took 2 for 23.

Former SVG batters- Salvan Browne- 40 not out, Hyron Shallow- 39 and Mc Lean Williams- 38, as RVG Police replied with 130 for 2 off 11.3 overs.
