Vincy Heat to battle in chilly Bermuda

A 23- man St Vincent and the Grenadines senior men’s team will face Bermuda tonight, Friday, November 17, at the Dame Flora Duffy Sports Complex in Hamilton, Bermuda, in a crucial Group C clash in the Concacaf Nations League’s League B.

Selected are goal keepers Lemus Christopher, Garwin Davis and Jimmal Lewis. The defenders are Nigel Small, Jazzi Boob, Joel Jack, Jahmol Yorke, Jahvin Sutherland and Najima Burgin. Making up the midfielders are Nazir Mc Burnette, Addeen Charles, Diel Spring, Terris Joseph, Kennijah Joseph, Sherwyn Alexander, Masai Brown- Andrews, and Gidson Francis, And, the strikers are Oryan Velox, Cornelius Stewart, Rondell Thomas, Marlon Simmons, Kyle Edwards and Kirtney Franklyn.

The management team includes: Acting Head Coach – Alnif Williams, Manager- Ronen Francis, Assistant Coach- Shandel Samuel, Goal Keeper Coach- Urtis Blackett, Team Doctor- Najah Peters , Physiotherapist – Dilonie Sam and Executive Member- Michael John.

Following the encounter with Bermuda, St Vincent and the Grenadines will travel to Grenada to face Belize on Tuesday, November 21.

The Vincentians’ home match has been forced to be played elsewhere, because of the unavailability of the Arnos Vale Playing Field.

Seven players will join the team for the Grenada leg. They include- Goal Keeper- Josh Stowe, defenders- Kevin Francis and Jequan Adams, midfielders- Saviola Blake and Gideon Richards, along with strikers- Garrett Leigertwood and Oalex Anderson.

Going into tonight’s match, the Vincentians are on six points , while Bermuda sits on five points,with French Guiana leading standings on seven points. Belize, the other team in the group is on 4 points, hosts French Guiana tonight as well.

St Vincent and the Grenadines run in the Group, saw them defeating Belize, 2-1 and Bermuda 4-3, both lost the tie versus French Guiana , 1-4 and 2-3.
